Once you have made your tag you may want to 'make it your own' by using some form of identifying mark. A Watermark is just that but it is very soft and doesn't get in the way of changing your tag too much. Plus you can always identify your tags :)
So let's begin......... here's a very simple way to make your own Watermark :)
First let's open a new image 300 x 300 pixels with a white background. We will work on a large image and reduce it's size when we've finished :)
Now go to your Tool Bar (usually running down the left hand side of PSP) and select the 'Preshapes' Tool.
Using these settings click on the small black arrow and choose 'elipse'.
Make sure your foreground colour is blocked and your stroke colour is black as the image below shows:
Draw an elipse about the same size as this one:
Now click on your Text Tool and click in the center of your circle. Type in your name, or initials etc. I'm using Eye4Expression initials for this tutorial :)
Also note that you can type in the size you require by highlighting the size in your text box :) Click OK and your image should look like this:
Right click somewhere in your picture and deselect OR go to Selections/Defloat. Now go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible.
Now click on your Magic Wand Tool then click on your Tool Options Bar and use these settings:
Now click the white background of your picture and you'll see lots of little 'ants' running around your whole image. Go to Selections/Invert, then right click the top bar of your image and copy. Right click your PSP desktop and Paste as new Image. Alternatively go to Edit/Copy then Paste as New Image on your desktop. Your image should now look like this:
At this stage we will now resize our image so that it will sit unobtrusively on our tag :) Go to Images/Resize and resize. I resized mine by 25%. Now go to Effects/Texture Effects/Emboss and your image will now look like this :
Lol, doesn't look very good at this stage does it?? Now is the time to save your watermark. Save it as a .psp file and save it where you can always find it :) Now we're going to watermark that tag! Right click on the top of your watermark tool bar and copy or go to Edit/Copy. Right click on your tag menu bar and paste as a new Layer. It certainly won't look unobtrusive at this stage lol! Now go to your Layers Pallette and click on the little black arrow where it says 'normal':
Click on the Softlight option like this:
VOILA!! Your watermark is sitting very unobtrusively on your tag :) Take your 'Mover' tool and move your watermark around your tag until you are happy with it. Now go to Layers/Merge/Merge All (flatten) and save your new watermarked tag as a .jpg.
This is how your watermark should look :)
