As it seems that Leona Lewis is now very popular in the Music business & with a wonderful voice, I thought I would make a pretty tag from a tube I made from one of her photograph's.
So let's start by opening a new transparent image 350 x 350. Click on your Paint Can and fill the image with white. Now add a new layer and name it 'template'. Now let's floodfill that layer with a colour from the tube you are using. If you are using Leona Lewis then I chose the colour #F2A78F.
You can easily find this colour by clicking on the Colour Pallette. When the colour menu pops up, highlight the colour number (always starts with the hash symbol #) and type in the the colour yourself, then press ok :)
Now we are going to go to Masks/Load from Disk and find the mask e4e-tut23lotus. Press ok. Now it doesn't quite look right as is it lol. If we are to put this in an email it wouldn't look good at all. So let's get rid of those hard outside lines.
Click on your 'selection' tool then go to your Tool Options Pallette and use the settings below:
Now try and find the 'centre' of your template layer and draw an 'elipse', similar to the diagram below:
Do not 'deselect'. You'll find that as soon as you let go of your selection the whole image will have 'marching ants going around it. Don't worry! The reason for this is that we have such a large 'feathering' on the selection. Now click on Selections/Invert and hit the 'Delete' key on your keyboard 3 times. If you'd like less of the template showing then keep hitting the 'Delete' key until you are happy with your image. If you've gone too far, don't forget your 'undo tool :)
So if you're happy with your template it should look similar to the example below:
Now you can deselect, Selections/Select None
Now that your template is done we will now copy our tube (Edit/Copy or click on the image menu and click Copy) then click on the template image and Edit/Paste as New Layer or click on the Image and Paste as New Layer. Pick up your 'Mover Tool' and move your tube slightly to the right and your template layer very slightly to the left. Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use the following settings:
You can now either leave your image as is or you can now add your text. Before the text your tag should now look like the one below:
Please note that most of the images have been resized by 80% for easier loading:P Ok, now let's add our text :) Click on your Text Tool. I used the following settings. The reason I chose to use the 'vector' option is that you can drag it longer or make it higher to fit your exact requiremnts. The text colour is #D19D8D and the stroke or outline is #9B2D09. I used the font called 'Becket' which is also included in the materials download.
Once you are happy with the way your text looks, go to your Layers Pallette and rename this layer 'text'. Now right click on yout 'text' layer and scroll down to Convert to Raster Layer and click on it. We will now add an effect called 'Water Drops' by Eye Candy 3000 to the text. Go to Effects/Plug-In Filters and find Eye Candy 3000/Water Drops and use the following settings:
I love this look :) Now go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and use the following settings:
Now let's add a drop shadow to our text by going to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and use these settings:
All you have to do now is go to File/Save As and save as a .jpg to wherever you keep your email tags :) Another thing I do, is have a folder in My Documents called 'Tags by Me'. All the tags I make I keep in here and they are saved in their .psp format so that if at any time I want to alter or remove anything, the image still has all the layers in tact and are not 'Merged'. Here is the fnished tag. I hope you like it :)
As always, should have any problems understanding this tutorial or any other then please feel free to email me:)
