Creating Cut Outs with Blade Pro

Click here to keep your place

This is a tutorial on how to make cutouts with the Flaming Pear Plug-In Blade Pro.I'm not sure where I got this idea from but someone out there played around with a preset of Blade Pro and came up with a few easy methods on creating these following text effects. This preset is basically Blade Pro in "neutral". Click here   to download the preset. Unzip and download the preset .q9q and the .bmp to your Blade Pro Folder/Environments and Texures. The following images are examples for using this preset. All the graphics on this page were created with this preset or some variation. To use this preset, flood fill a graphic with a color or a pattern. Apply your text with floating unchecked. This preset is actually a good learning tool. By playing with the adjustments and light, it is a good way to learn how Blade Pro works :)

Blade Pro Plug-In

Text with preset applied - no adjustments.

Flaming Pear Blade Pro Preset

Text with preset applied and shape changed to second shape from the top.

Blase Pro Bevelled Preset

Text with preset applied and shape changed to last shape on menu.

Flaming Pear Preset Filters

Text with preset applied and white light changed to blue.

Dingbat font with preset applied - no adjustments.

Dingbat font with preset applied and height increased slightly (this has a "softening" effect).

Dingbat font with preset applied with Iridescence sent to the middle and the Iri Colours slider slid about 1/4 of the way.

Dingbat font with preset applied, height increased almost all the way to maximum(this causes the opposite effect-rather than a cut-out,it becomes extruded)

Same as above, except white light changed to blue.

As always, if you have a problem going through this tutorial or get stuck, feel free to email me and I'll help you through it :)
